For Paper Submission

Q1. Are perspective or position papers discussing interactions in robot design eligible for submission? Are only technical papers accepted?
A1. Papers will not be rejected solely on the grounds that they are not highly technical. The acceptance criteria strongly emphasize the paper’s quality and its contribution to the community.

Q2. Is simultaneous submission to another conference permitted? How is it handled if the language or framing differs?
A2. These cases are handled according to the following rules:
 • Double submissions are strictly prohibited.
 • If the core content is essentially identical, it is considered the same paper, regardless of the language used.
 • If the work is substantially different (as a general guideline, less than 30% overlap), it may be considered.
 • A clear explanation from the authors is required in such cases.

For Special Sessions

Q1. Who conducts the reviews for Special Sessions?
A1. The session organizers will serve as the Associate Editors (AEs).

Q2. Will external reviewers be invited?
A2. Yes, external reviewers can be invited through PaperCept.

Q3. Can AEs submit papers to their own sessions?
A3. Yes, AEs can submit papers, provided that a process is in place to ensure there is no Conflict of Interest (COI).

Q4. Invited talks and online presentations in Special Sessions: Is it possible to have an invited talk without a paper submission? Are online presentations allowed?
A4. Special Sessions are premised on the presentation of accepted papers; therefore, paper submission and acceptance are mandatory. Presentations must generally be given in person. However, online presentations may be permitted with a valid justification. Depending on the nature of the invited talk, proposing it for a Workshop might be more appropriate.

For Participation

Q1. Hybrid format and online presentations: Is on-site participation by at least one author mandatory? Since on-site participation may be difficult, is it possible to present online?
A1. We adhere to the following rules:
Although in-person presentation is the general principle, we accommodate situations on a case-by-case basis.
A full registration is required for a paper to be published.
Online presentations are permitted if there is a valid justification.

Childcare and Participation with Children

We aim to provide an inclusive conference environment for participants with children. Children accompanying registered participants, as well as caregivers (parents, guardians, or babysitters), will be allowed to enter the venue without conference registration. We are currently exploring the possibility of providing childcare services either within the conference venue or at a nearby location.
Further details will be announced on this website as soon as they become available. Participants are welcome to travel to Kitakyushu, Japan, with their children. If you have any questions or require further information, please contact:
